HD Hyundai Electric has partnered with LG CNS to pursue power infrastructure projects for artificial intelligence data centers and expand factory automation, the power equipment maker said Friday.
The two companies signed a memorandum of understanding that combines HD Hyundai Electric's expertise in power equipment and distribution systems with LG CNS' experience in designing, building and operating data centers.
For AI data centers, the companies plan to offer power and distribution equipment as integrated packages and jointly pursue business opportunities in Korea and overseas. They will also explore ways to incorporate LG CNS' technology into HD Hyundai Electric's power monitoring platform to improve the efficiency of data center power operations.
The partnership also covers manufacturing, with LG CNS set to use data from HD Hyundai Electric's production facilities to apply manufacturing AI technology and automate logistics and production processes.
The companies aim to further automate HD Hyundai Electric's Cheongju Power Distribution Campus and improve its smart factory operations. They also plan to standardize operations across the company's global manufacturing sites.
"Through our partnership with LG CNS, we aim to improve the operational efficiency of data center power infrastructure and expand cooperation to secure new growth opportunities," HD Hyundai Electric CEO Kim Young-ki said.
"We will support the digital transformation of manufacturing operations and broaden our partnership to jointly pursue business opportunities in global markets," LG CNS CEO Hyun Shin-gyoon said.
